Portugal should be commended for leaving Ullevaal with a win in Sunday’s Nations League match. You don’t have to be Norwegian to have seen how the Norwegian game at times made the reigning Nations League champions look like small boys. Coach Jorge Jesus is full of respect for Ståle Solbakken’s team, and probably knows deep down that he was lucky to “get away” with victory.
“It was a good win. In my opinion, the Norwegian team is one of the top five in Europe. They have a striker (Erling Haaland) who can score at any time. It’s unbelievable,” Jorge Jesus said according to uefa.com.

We showed in the World Cup a level as one of the top five, but love to hear that from a Portuguese national team coach after meeting us, and at times being played with by the Norwegian game.
“But our back line – and especially our two centre-backs (Renato Veiga and Rúben Dias), with help from João Palhinha and Rúben Neves when they went back into defence – were very strong centrally. Still, Haaland had six shots inside the box and scored on one of them,” says the national team coach.
