The Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was weighed and found too light in the match against Norway a few days ago by national team manager Jorge Jesus. Later today, Wednesday, it is ready for a new round of Nations League matches where Portugal meets Denmark. (Norway meets Wales)
After being told by Jorge Jesus that there will be a bench today, a furious Ronaldo packed his bags and went home to the desert sands in Saudi Arabia.

FPF’s disciplinary rules also allow for fines for professional players who unjustifiably leave the national team’s work.
Cristiano Ronaldo could be suspended for between one and six months, as well as a fine of between 500 and 1000 euros, after he left the national team’s training camp before the match against Denmark. This is exactly what the Portuguese Football Federation’s (FPF) disciplinary rules prescribe for players who leave the national team’s work without a valid reason.
“Absence or withdrawal automatically triggers the preventive suspension of the player in accordance with the terms of these regulations,” reads document number two of Article 160 of the FPF’s regulations.
The Portuguese captain left the camp this Wednesday, after Jorge Jesus confirmed that Gonçalo Ramos will initially start against Denmark. Ronaldo had started against Wales, but did not come off the bench in the triumph over Norway – despite warming up.
At the press conference, the coach assured that the striker did not refuse to train, emphasizing that the decision on the use of the players belongs to the coaching staff.
Ronaldo’s departure could also lead to an automatic preventive suspension, according to the same regulations. The 41-year-old Al Nassr striker is the player with the most caps (234) and most goals (146) for the Portuguese national team.
