Liverpool’s decision to sign Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr is considered CANCELLED at this stage of the transfer window, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The Reds have been keen to sign a new striker ahead of the 23:00 deadline tonight – having already spent £123m on Bradley Barcola, while Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo have arrived under new manager Andoni Iraola.

The club had a £50 million bid rejected for Brighton star Yankuba Minteh earlier in the window – and an improved bid of £60 million was also rejected. The interest in the Gambian thus ended. As a result, Liverpool increased their interest in the Senegalese Sarr – with a £50 million bid that Palace rejected.
Sarr desperate – Palace just as steep
Sarr has been desperate to move to Anfield, and is said to have told Crystal Palace that he did not want to play for them anymore after the bid. But the club from south London has stood firm – and refused to sell.
According to Sky Sports journalist Tavolieri, who writes on X, an agreement is now considered dissolved by the parties in the negotiations.
“I have been told that Ismaila Sarr’s deal with Liverpool is now going cold – also described as ‘off’ by the parties,” he writes. “Crystal Palace would not let the Senegalese leave.
Was the club’s top scorer
Sarr was Palace’s top scorer last season in all competitions – with 21 goals in 45 games. Then the Eagles won both the Conference League and the Community Shield under Oliver Glasner. He has yet to play for the club this season, having missed training due to a minor injury.

Liverpool keep Gakpo
Liverpool’s interest in a new winger was closely linked to Cody Gakpo being heavily linked with a move away from Merseyside – with Manchester City being the preferred destination.
After the Reds rejected an £80m bid for the Dutchman, they opted to keep him at the club. Along with Munoz, Barcola and Rio Ngumoha, they now have four winger options for the rest of the season – reducing the need for Sarr, Minteh or another winger.
If a deal had been possible, the club would probably have gone through with it. But with Palace stumbling and a slow start to the season under Pierre Sage, it was never easy. Now Sarr has to accept that he will stay – until 2027 at the earliest.
