German Bild feeds its readers with everything that happens in the world of football – and what does not happen. So when a sporting director gets a seat on the front page of the newspaper, screaming at Klopp, this probably also reflects the opinion of many Germans, a few hours after the proud football nation is out of the World Cup after the round of 16.

Sports editor Henning Feindt at Bild used the front page to promote the “people’s” demands: “Now Klopp must come!”

Julian Nagelsmann had a stated goal two years ago to win the World Cup with Germany, Paraguay made sure that the German national team coach did not reach the goal, already 20 days before the World Cup final.

“The national team coach, who declared the World Cup title as his goal two years ago, has failed, and despite his contract running until 2028, a ‘business as usual’ approach is impossible. Nagelsmann should go – and Jürgen Klopp should come in!, the Bild editor grumbles.

Klopp, who works as a pundit on German TV during the World Cup, was asked right after the game what it takes before he will consider the job of national coach.

“I have a job, I really enjoy it. As far as I know, it is not a part-time job. The fact is that Germany was knocked out today, and this is not the moment where I should think about my own future. As a coach, I have often been in the situation myself, where a big dream has been shattered. I understand that when people talk about the national team coach, my name is mentioned, but it’s not the right time to talk about it – especially not myself,” Klopp replied according to Bild.

We’re guessing the process is already underway.
