Argentina are through to the World Cup final against Spain. Two late goals in a terrific attacking game led by the best player in history, Lionel Messi, shook a defensively charged English 11 to a 1-2 loss. One of the most entertaining things after the game was Jordan Pickford’s carefully detailed recipe for winning a penalty shootout against Argentina.
Footage from the aftermath of Argentina’s World Cup semi-final victory over England showed Messi inspecting Pickford’s water bottle after the final whistle. A member of Argentina’s coaching staff picked up the bottle from the pitch before handing it to the captain. Who examined the penalty takers that were attached to the side of the bottle.

The bottle was then passed around Argentina’s national team, and Enzo Fernandez was seen laughing after seeing his own name alongside notes detailing his preferred penalty placement and shooting habits. The moment came after Argentina secured their place in the World Cup final with a dramatic late comeback.
Pickford had prepared detailed information about Argentina’s penalty takers, but England’s loss in regulation time meant that the notes were never necessary.
