Everton have made contact with a Premier League rival to sign a new striker, according to Football Insider – in an attempt to give David Moyes more attacking options.
The Toffees are looking to improve after last year’s 13th-place finish, where the team was in contention for European Cup play, but dropped out towards the end of the season. Several areas could be strengthened in the market to give Everton a real chance of returning to Europe next season – but the attacking line is by far the club’s top priority this summer.

Everton make contact for Liam Delap
According to Football Insider, Everton have made contact with Chelsea to secure Liam Delap – and work on a deal is intensifying.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the next few weeks, after a difficult debut season at the club. A combination of injuries and poor form made the striker appear a shadow of himself – he was a far cry from the level of his time at Ipswich Town the season before, where he was described as a “monster” in top form.
Everton want to take advantage of Chelsea’s decision to try and get Delap back to his best – the potential is clearly there. The striker can provide a physical presence in attack that suits Moyes’ style of play, where strikers often have to struggle to get good balls.
It is unclear how much Everton value the striker at, but other reports claim that £40 million could be enough to convince Chelsea to sell this summer.
The transfer could be the first of many for the Toffees in the summer window – and could usher in a revamp of the attacking department.
Everton expect more moves in attack
Everton expect both entrances and exits in the attacking line this summer. RB Leipzig have made contact to sign Thierno Barry – which could open the door for Delap to make the move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
In addition, Everton have shown interest in Jarrod Bowen after West Ham’s relegation to the Championship. It will mean a reunion between Moyes and the winger from his time in the capital, where both player and coach experienced great success.
