National team manager Ståle Solbakken was critical of the lack of playing time for Thelo Aasgaard at Rangers, but still chose to take him to this summer’s World Cup playoffs.
The international is leaving Rangers for Anderlecht.

Thelo Aasgaard is done with Scottish Rangers. Now a new chapter in Belgian top-flight football awaits – for the big club Anderlecht.
The clubs confirm the transfer in their own media channels. Aasgaard will go on loan until the end of the season, but the deal includes a purchase option that could make the transfer permanent.
World Cup goals for Norway
The 24-year-old has recorded one goal in five games for Rangers since the start of the season in August. He is initially under contract with the Scottish giants until 2029.
Aasgaard joined Rangers from Luton last summer, and was part of Norway’s squad for the World Cup finals in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
In total, he has nine caps and six goals for Norway.

Had to be in place before the European deadline
The transfer window in Belgium closes on Thursday, but according to The Herald, the deal had to be in order as early as Wednesday evening. The background is the deadline for registering players for the European Cup – where Anderlecht will participate in the Europa League.
Now only the formalities remain before Aasgaard can put on the Anderlecht shirt in full.
