When Arsenal clapped in Mikel Arteta as their new manager in 2019, it caused quite a stir. The Gunners were still trying to find their footing after a weak spell with Unai Emery, who was to replace Arsène Wenger after 22 years as Arsenal manager. Arteta made 150 appearances for Arsenal, retiring in 2016. The former club captain took his time getting supporters on his side at the Emirates but was on the verge of losing his job after a disastrous start to the 2021-22 season. Then things turned around. Four years later, Arteta has one hand on the Premier League trophy.

Here we see Arteta only ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City with a total of more points, these are also the only two clubs to have won the Premier League since Arteta’s appointment in 2019. It is also interesting to see the distance down to Manchester United, Chelsea and the others.
Even before the 2025/26 season ends, the combined points stats show that Mikel Arteta has been a giant as Arsenal manager. Now only the trophy is missing as the final proof.
