Vinicius Jr and an extension that worries Real Madrid
The case surrounding Vinicius Jr carries with it enormous sporting, financial and emotional weight. He’s not just any player in the squad – he’s one of LaLiga’s biggest stars and one of the most valuable assets in the international market, with a current value of close to €140 million.

The presence of Kylian Mbappé has also upset the internal balance. Mbappé’s salary and signing bonus – he arrived as a free agent – have raised the bar for the top figures in the squad. Vinicius Jr wants financial recognition that is in line with his status, but the club will not disrupt the salary structure without a very carefully reasoned adjustment.
The ultimatum
Real Madrid send an ultimatum to Vinicius. The outcome will have direct consequences for LaLiga. Vinicius’ continuity affects not only Real Madrid’s competitive potential, but also the league’s media appeal – a league that needs to retain its top players in the face of pressure from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.

It may not be the ideal plan, but it is a way to avoid a traumatic ending.
Vinicius’ future is now in his own hands. The player knows he has the love of a large part of Real Madrid’s fan base and a privileged position in the team. But Real Madrid wants action, not just gestures.
