Surprising for everyone as it has already been announced that manager Oliver Glasner is leaving Selhurst Park, has made a U-turn and wants to stay at Crystal Palace.

Former Everton boss Keith Wyness claims that he is out in the media a lot and talks about the day, he says that he has heard that this could actually be a possibility.

Glasner announced in January that he would leave the Eagles when the season is over and his contract expires.

The Austrian, who led the south London club to FA Cup success last season, had expressed frustration over the lack of support in the transfer market and the loss of key players.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola have both been linked with replacing Glasner at Crystal Palace in the summer.

Oliver Glasner rumor “appeared in one of my phone calls”

Keith Wyness – who was CEO of Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football advisory firm that advises elite clubs – calls McKenna to Crystal Palace “out of the question”.

On the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness does not rule out the possibility of Glasner staying at Selhurst Park.

He told Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast:

“There’s even a rumor that Glasner will stay at Palace. There was a strange rumor that surfaced in one of my phone calls this week. If so, it could be a “kiss and reconcile” thing from Steve Parish.

“Stranger things have happened in football, so if Glasner doesn’t find the right situation, then of course it’s always a possibility.

“Nothing surprises you anymore. But Palace and McKenna are definitely out of the question.

Fulham boss on Crystal Palace’s radar

Fulham boss Marco Silva could also become a manager candidate for Crystal Palace, according to former Manchester United scouting boss Mick Brown in an interview with Football Insider – if Glasner decides to go through with his plans to leave the club.

Silva has not committed his future to Fulham beyond this season and is expected to leave Craven Cottage in search of a new challenge.

The 48-year-old has extensive Premier League experience, but has also expressed frustration over the lack of transfer activity at Fulham.

The Cottagers have been a stable mid-table club under his leadership, but have not been able to fight for the European Cup places with the squad he has had at his disposal.
