Former Manchester United player Phil Jones experienced injury after injury, which has completely ruined the last few years of his career. His contract with United expired in the summer of 2023, but Jones was given the opportunity to follow the academy as a transition to a coaching career. In February 2026, Jones was hired as an assistant coach at Blackburn, his former club. Here, the former defender did exactly what he was brought in for, but now it is reported that the 34-year-old is leaving Blackburn.
Jones came in as an assistant to Michael O’Neil, when Blackburn Rovers were in danger of being relegated with the course set. O’Neill and Jones saved their place in the Championship, now a new opportunity has arisen for the new manager.
