Brilliant Phil Foden was scrapped by Thomas Tuchel for England’s World Cup squad. A big blow for the 26-year-old. His mentor Pep Guaridola had coached the English winger to world-class and self-described to play for the Three Lions (49 games since 2020). In the past season, however, Foden has shown dips in form. Now it could be coming to an end at City as well, this should be exploited in Milan.

10 goals in 50 games last season, and rarely in the match-deciding role we have become accustomed to. With his contract expiring next summer and Guaridola finished at City, the attacking midfielder faces an uncertain future at the Etihad.

In order to make a move towards Foden, Milan must sell Rafael Leao first, but the Portuguese himself has pushed for an exit.
