Done guessing? Maybe it wasn’t that difficult. It was Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham who persuaded Messi to move to MLS and Inter Miami, it is Sir David who uses his voice to influence votes in the direction of the Argentine 39-year-old.
In the Campeones Cup final against Cruz Azul on Thursday night, Messi scored, after the game Beckham was crystal clear about who has been the best player in the world.

“When you see him do things like these, and when you see him have that World Championship that he had. There’s no one else at 39 who does it, and does it at that level,” Beckham begins, according to the BBC.
Beckham believes that the World Cup final, which the Argentine star had especially this summer, has earned him one of the biggest individual awards in football.
“He deserves to be considered for the Ballon d’Or. He should win it, in my opinion,” says David Beckham.
Lionel Messi scored his 100th goal for Inter Miami in the match against Cruz Azul. There is no doubt that the 39-year-old still plays like the best in magical moments during the matches in the Argentine and Inter Miami shirts, but that it will be enough for the Ballon d’Or award is surely something many people disagree with Sir David on.
