Hamburger SV is reportedly doing everything they can to extend Fábio Vieira’s stay at the Volksparkstadion.
After establishing himself as a key player for Hamburger SV following his loan move from Arsenal last summer, Vieira is currently set for a return to his parent club. But Hamburg is fighting to keep him.

According to Sky Germany, HSV are hoping to extend the stay of the Portuguese midfielder and have already opened talks with Arsenal.
Vieira open to staying – but price is a problem
After being informed that Hamburg want to build the team around them, Vieira is said to be open to staying. However, a permanent transfer depends on whether the German club can reach an agreement with Arsenal.
HSV will have a purchase option of 20 million euros. That sum is considered too high for the club, which will now try to negotiate it down.
Arsenal’s contract expires next year
Vieira only has one year left on his contract at Arsenal. That could give Hamburg a bargaining chip – if they manage to get the price down to a more affordable level.
The question is whether Arsenal are willing to let the Portuguese go cheaper, or if Hamburg will have to find other solutions. Hamburg, who saved their place in the Bundesliga with good points collection in recent weeks, will probably do what they can to keep him.
