Harry Kane extends his contract with Bayern Munich until 2029 – and thus takes the throne as the highest-paid player in the major European leagues.
Already earning €25 million a year, plus personal sponsors and commissions
Bayern Munich are in the process of securing their big star. Harry Kane has reached an agreement to extend his contract until June 2029, pending the club’s signing and making it official. The 33-year-old English striker had a contract until June 2027 – now he will stay in Germany for another two seasons.

Goal records in the Bayern shirt
According to The Athletic, the deal extends the relationship between Kane and Bayern after three seasons marked by tremendous goal production. The striker stands with 156 goals in 161 official games since joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
The new deal is scheduled for June 2029 and, according to available information, will place Kane as the player with the highest fixed salary in Europe. The exact financial scope has not been published, but the numbers are unmistakable.
Bayern believe the extension will not necessarily be the player’s last contract in Germany. Kane will turn 36 during the 2029/30 season, but the club appreciates both his goals and the weight he has in the team’s attacking play.
Since joining the Bundesliga, Kane has won two league championships, one DFB Cup and two Super Cups. In addition, he just won the Ballon d’Or in 2026 after 61 goals in 51 games for Bayern last season – and a whopping 73 goals between club and country.
Dropping return to England
Kane’s continuity also reduces the chances of an immediate return to England. The striker left Tottenham with 213 goals in the Premier League and is still 47 goals behind Alan Shearer’s all-time record of 260.
But the player’s priority has shifted to his time in the Bundesliga. In Munich, he has found sporting continuity, collective titles and the greatest individual recognition of his career with the Ballon d’Or in October 2026.
More than just goals
His influence isn’t limited to the scoring list either. In Vincent Kompany’s team, he participates in the build-up, drops down to connect with the midfielders and creates space for players like Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry. That commitment explains why Bayern have made his continuity a contractual priority.
The club has also appreciated his stability. Kane has become the Bundesliga’s top scorer in his first three seasons in Germany and recently passed the 100-goal mark in the league – a figure he reached in less than 100 games.
Ready for announcement
The next step is the announcement of the new contract. Kane himself said this week that the parties are only working out legal details, and that the announcement is a matter of days. Unless there is a last-minute change, Bayern have him until June 2029.
