Since arriving from Tottenham in 2023, the Englishman has lifted two Bundesliga titles, a German Cup title and a German Super Cup title. Now it looks like it will be more years – and more chances for trophies – at FC Bayern for Kane going forward.
From Tottenham hero to Bayern legend
Harry Kane was for over a decade the very symbol of Tottenham Hotspur. He came through the club’s academy and grew to become one of the Premier League’s very best strikers – and the club’s all-time top scorer with 213 goals in 320 games.
Despite his personal achievements, he never managed to win a trophy with Spurs. For several seasons, he carried the team on his back, but defeats in the Champions League, League Cup and several top-four finishes without a trophy eventually became too much.
In the summer of 2023, he made the difficult choice to leave his childhood club. The transfer to Bayern Munich for around €100 million was one of the biggest in football history – and for Kane personally, a chance to finally win the titles he deserved.
Extension in the pipeline
German Sky Sports reports that Kane wants to stay in Munich, and that he is expected to extend his deal with the big club shortly. The Englishman’s current contract expires in 2027 – while the new one is expected to be signed until 2029.
The channel reports that the salary in the new contract will be the same as now: 25 million euros a year.
Tottenham dream of return
While Kane is negotiating in Munich, Tottenham have set things in motion to bring about a return. The mood in north London is better under Roberto De Zerbi, and Spurs have had a successful transfer window.
However, with Kane now on track to extend his contract with Bayern, Tottenham fans seem to have to wait a long time for a possible return for the club’s biggest son.
Kane has settled in at Bayern – and the hunt for more titles continues in Munich. Two Bundesliga titles in two years, a cup and a super cup are already in the box – and with a new contract until 2029, there could be many more.
