Mo Salah was out in the freezer at Liverpool before Christmas. Harsh criticism of Arne Slot sent Salah not only back to the bench, but out of the matchday squad. Then things worked out between the two. Right up until before the last game. Then came another salvo from Salah, a statement and timing that made even Steven Gerrard react. Wayne Rooney believes Slot must now keep Salah away from Anfield in the last game at Anfield.
“I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that the opponents fear, and back to being a team that wins trophies.” These were parts of the “farewell gift” on social media from Salah to Slot, with still one game left in the season. In other words, this season’s Liverpool team under Arne Slot is pulling in the wrong direction.

Steven Gerrard reacted to TNT Sport: “I’m surprised by the timing – one game left, his last game for Liverpool. He rarely speaks out, but he has lately because his incredible Liverpool career is coming to an end, but it’s a pretty harsh criticism of the Liverpool manager and staff in terms of where the team is at the moment.”
Wayne Rooney runs his own WR show, the United legend thought this must have consequences for Salah in the last game of the season against Brentford at Anfield, where a Champions League ticket is at stake.
“I think it’s sad at the end of what he’s done and what he’s achieved at Liverpool. It is not the point for him to come out and aim once again at Slot. He wants to play heavy metal football, so he’s basically saying he wants Jürgen Klopp football. Now I don’t think Mo Salah can handle that kind of football anymore. I think his legs have deteriorated to play at the high pace and the high intensity,” Rooney begins.
Then comes the call to Slot.
-He almost just dropped the “grenade” and has said he does not trust and believe in Arne Slot, and he has almost thrown out his teammates who will be there next season, and let them have to deal with it as well, and put them in a difficult position. If I were Arne Slot, I wouldn’t have him near the stadium in the last game. I had an argument with Alex Ferguson. We strongly disagreed, and in Alex Ferguson’s last game at Old Trafford he left me out of the squad for that reason,” Rooney said.

Who has clearly realized he deserved it. The question is whether Salah deserves it in his last game in a Liverpool shirt.
