Manchester United get a clear recommendation on which two players from their city rival they need to secure in that case.
Man Utd considered signing Donnarumma in the summer of 2025, and it’s no secret that Anderson was their biggest target in midfield this summer. For talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor, two of City’s best, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Elliot Anderson, could be very much in the running for a move to Old Trafford.

The former Aston Villa striker explains: “Donnarumma – I’ve been watching [Senne] Lammens. Bad in the World Cup, cost Belgium in that game and I don’t think he’s been fantastic this season. Look at the own goal – Lisandro Martinez against Fulham. He has to be better with that save. I’m not convinced about him. I would say Donnarumma to Manchester United. Manchester United want to go and grab the Premier League’s best goalkeeper.

Of Anderson, Agbonlahor said: “Elliot Anderson, Manchester United wanted you, now you go there. Manchester United – you wanted Elliot Anderson, go and get him for maybe half the price.
Of course, this will be hypothetical, it has not been decided about the consequences for whether the rule violations send the City stars out of the club. Still, we guess several big clubs are getting ready if that happens.
