Ola Brynhildsen accounts for 8 goals in 38 games for FC Midtjylland. The striker left Molde in 2023, signed for the Danish Super League club, and then took a loan stay at Molde in 2024. Now a new transfer is underway for the 25-year-old.

Before Thursday’s game against Real Sociedad – without Brynhildsen in the squad – FC Midtjylland coach Thomas Thomasberg was asked about the Norwegian’s situation.

-The speculation about who is going out or in… I think you’ve got the indication, given that he’s not in our European squad,” the FCM coach begins.

So it could be that he needs to be sold?

“You can think about that all you want about, but it can be a possibility,” says Thomas Thomasberg, not entirely dismissive.

According to journalist Tom Bogert at Givemesport, Brynhildsen is close to a transfer to MLS club Toronto FC, where a lease agreement and purchase option are in the contract. Or as Bogert writes to Toronto supporters: “Toronto FC fans, here’s your new striker”.

Could be an exciting journey for the former Stabæk and Molde player.
