History is being made in Coventry today and after winning the second game in a row in the Premier League, they are now up to 6 points, the same as Manchester United.

It was clear that Coventry were much more concerned with winning than Newcastle. – Newcastle manager Frank Lampard, who at the beginning of the season suffered four straight losses and looked quite sad, can now breathe a sigh of relief! His thoughts on reshaping the team after last season’s promotion have started to work.

United legend can’t even be bothered to comment on a Manchester City match

Coventry are now playing with conviction, with an entertaining and creative attack despite a somewhat random interaction between defence and midfield. “It will be fun to follow them going forward.

Coventry 4 – Newcastle 1

Jack Rudoni scored Coventry’s first home goal in the Premier League in over a quarter of a century.

Rudoni scored the penalty that gave Coventry City a 1-0 lead over Newcastle United at the CBS Arena.

The Sky Blues, back in the top flight for the first time since 2001 – when they played at Highfield Road – picked up their first win of the season before the international break with a 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest.

They had yet to find the net in their first two home games, but they ended that drought in the sixth minute against the Magpies, when Rudoni was given the opportunity to score due to an error from Newcastle goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek.

Hornicek was unable to pick up a loose ball in the box under pressure from Ephron Mason-Clark. In his attempt to secure the ball, he was beaten by Sidiki Cherif, who fell under the Czech national team goalkeeper’s challenge.

The referee showed little hesitation in pointing to the penalty mark, and Rudoni made no mistake – he sent Hornicek the wrong way and broke the score.

Harvey Barnes had the first chance for Newcastle, who started the game 11th in the Premier League and had the opportunity to climb to fourth place with a win. But he wasted the opportunity to equalise after good play on the left by Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

The fantastic Kristoffer Ajer is content to stop strikers – now he also takes their job!
