Klopp confirms Liverpool were close to Kylian Mbappé signing

There is talk of the time when Mbappé played for AS Monaco.

“It’s the most expensive transfer that never came to fruition that Liverpool have invested. We flew from Blackpool to Nice and the whole Mbappé family joined us on a private plane. There were five rooms on the plane, or something like that. We really hit the big drum. We flew around in circles, talked to the family and ate good food. We couldn’t be seen. It was fantastic. And then he chose PSG,” Klopp reminisces.

For around 180 million euros.
