Impossible to resist Bodø/Glimt with 10 men!

First, Bodø/Glimt pushed head coach Kjetil Knutsen to coach colleague Jørgen Vik on the sidelines. Just before halftime, Fredrik Sjøvold was almost attacked by Alexander Warneryd – who was given marching orders straight out. And in the middle of it all: a 5-0 crushing at Aspmyra that really shows that Bodø/Glimt are ready to fight for the gold.

The “Battle of Northern Norway” between Bodø/Glimt and Tromsø was anything but a quiet affair. Already in the first half, it boiled over.

– Warneryd lost “head”

Just before halftime, Tromsø player Alexander Warneryd went headlong straight in with his arms in the face and neck of Glimt’s Fredrik Sjøvold. – Clearest red card I’ve seen in a long time.

Referee Tore Hansen was never in doubt. The yellow card was left in his pocket – instead the red came straight up.

Knutsen vs. Vik: Pushing on the sidelines

Just before Warneryd’s sending-off, the temperature had already reached boiling point between the two coaches. Kjetil Knutsen and Jørgen Vik stood face to face – before Knutsen pushed his colleague.

2-0 (66th min): Kasper Høgh took the ball down in the box, laid it down – and Sondre Brunstad Fet appeared like a pike in the reeds. Poked in 2-0.

3-0 (68th min): Counter-attack. Høgh found Jens Petter Hauge on the corner of the five-metre box. The winger bent the ball with his right foot up in the crossbar.

4-0 (80th min): Clattering and babbling in the peloton. Høgh was last on the ball from five meters.

5-0 (87th min): Penalty for Glimt. Høgh went over the top – and put the penalty in the goal himself. His fifth goal in this year’s Eliteserie.

Historically narrow lead for Glimt

This was the 47th time Tromsø and Bodø/Glimt met in a league context. With the 5-0 victory, the yellow jerseys take a narrow lead in the overall statistics:
