722 games for Barcelona. Three Champions League titles, nine trophies in La Liga. This is Sergio Busuet’s until 2023, when he was called in by Lionel Messi and David Beckham to Inter Miami. At the end of 2025, the 38-year-old retired as a player. Within a year, the legend is now back at Barcelona.
Because Barcelona has opened the door for one of their football icons, now Busquets will share his experience with the youth at the club, while building up part two of his career in football, this time as a coach.

Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he does not see himself as a coach, rather as a club owner. We also don’t envision CR7 as a coach, where he should be concerned with everyone but himself, but Busquets, on the other hand, seems like the perfect coaching subject.
On Monday, Barcelona announced that Busquets has been hired as an assistant coach for the club’s B team, Barça Atlètic. Here he will be assistant to Juliano Belletti, who has been the head coach of the team since 2025.
