Are Liverpool getting closer to this year’s big signing? According to several sources, the club has now reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain on the transfer of Bradley Barcola.
The French winger, who was one of France’s big stars during the 2026 World Cup, has made it crystal clear that he wants to go to Anfield. Now it seems that he will get what he wants.

The deal: €128 million – with realistic add-ons
According to Liverpool news channel DaveocKop, the clubs have agreed on a framework of around 128 million euros. Additional clauses should be far more achievable than previously proposed terms, making the agreement more palatable to both parties.
However, it is emphasized that the agreement is currently only in principle – nothing has been signed or finally confirmed.
PSG originally wanted €170 million for the 23-year-old, while Liverpool did not want to go over €120 million. The compromise of NOK 128 million thus appears to be the result of intense negotiations.
Barcola has turned down a new contract
Already on July 28, TEAMtalk’s transfer insider Graeme Bailey reported that Liverpool were very interested in Barcola. Sources have since confirmed that the player has turned down a new contract with PSG and expressed a clear desire to leave the reigning Ligue 1 and Champions League champions.
However, PSG have not been willing to sell cheaply, and the battle for the price tag has been going on for several weeks.
Liverpool are also leading the race for Mbaye
As Barcola approaches Anfield, Liverpool are working in parallel to secure another PSG player: 17-year-old Ibrahim Mbaye.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are in “genuine interest” in the youngster, who recently switched to super agent Jorge Mendes. Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest, but Liverpool will now lead the way in the battle for the signature.
Romano recently stated:
– Liverpool have contacted Mbaye’s new agent, Jorge Mendes. Mbaye also has offers from Bundesliga clubs, but gives priority to the Liverpool project. A deal with RB Leipzig was close, but collapsed when Diomande’s transfer to PSG became relevant.
TEAMtalks Bailey also confirms that talks are ongoing, and that Mbaye himself is interested in a transfer to Anfield.
Two PSG players on their way to Liverpool?
If both transfers go through, Liverpool could sign as many as two attacking players from PSG in the same window. Bradley Barcola is ready for immediate effect – Ibrahim Mbaye for the future.
And with a deal in principle already in place for Barcola, it could be a matter of days before the first of them presents himself at Anfield.
