Liverpool have been given an important first green light in their bid to sign PSG winger Bradley Barcola.
Liverpool and new manager Andoni Iraola knew they had to strengthen broadly in the summer transfer window – especially after Mohamed Salah’s departure.

The Reds have already signed Víctor Muñoz right under the noses of Premier League rivals Newcastle United. But they still want to secure another winger before the window closes – in the hope of a far better 2026/27 season.
The Merseyside club had made RB Leipzig’s sensation Yan Diomande their main target, and the belief in a transfer grew – until the teenager decided to go to Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Ironically, PSG’s signing of Diomande could actually increase Liverpool’s chances of signing Barcola. The Champions League winners are also working on a deal to sign Monaco striker Maghnes Akliouche.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the France international is now their top priority – while the Reds are also considering signing a new midfielder, with Ayyoub Bouaddi (Lille) and Alex Scott (Bournemouth) on the block.

Liverpool get “significant” Barcola boost
Liverpool have been given a “significant” green light in their quest to lure Barcola away from the Parc des Princes – the player’s representatives are actively exploring a summer sale.
Barcola’s agents have already held talks with several top clubs in Europe, despite PSG’s insistence that he is not for sale. But it’s hard to see how there will be room for him in the squad if both Diomande and Akliouche arrive – especially with Ousmane Dembélé, Khvitsha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué already in the squad.
Contract negotiations between PSG and their “superstar” have also stalled. He now has two years left on his deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG are planning new talks with Barcola when he returns from the World Cup – but if there is no breakthrough, they will reluctantly consider a sale.
They are expected to demand €150 million – approximately £128 million – for his services. That would shatter the British transfer record of £125 million, which the Reds themselves paid for Alexander Isak last summer.
Liverpool management have clearly opened their eyes to some of the best young talent in European football this summer. They are currently in talks to bring in Lille sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Although he is only 18 years old, the teenager is already approaching 100 first-team appearances for the French club. He has also made his mark on the world stage with impressive performances for Morocco in the World Cup.
In his debut in the tournament, he overjoyed players like Casemiro and Lucas Paquetá against Brazil – and now hopes to create a big sensation by beating France in the quarter-finals on Thursday night.
However, the Reds will face competition for Bouaddi – including from Manchester City.
