Bayern Munich have seen it many others, including the bosses at Liverpool, that Rio Ngumoha has enormous potential.
The winger spent his very young years at Chelsea, but in 2024 he was picked up by Liverpool, who have benefited from the 17-year-old this season. Until February, Liverpool have not paid for the youth player, but then the Professional Football Compensation Committee (PFCC) decided that Liverpool must pay at least £2.8 million to Chelsea and 20% of a further sale price.

We are talking about completely different sums now in the proposal from Bayern Munich, but that has not made Liverpool change their minds.
Earlier today, Friday, The Athletic’s journalist David Ornstein revealed that Bayern are trying to sign Ngumoha from Liverpool in the summer transfer window. Ngumoha is one of the best young players in the Premier League, and Liverpool have high expectations for the 17-year-old winger. – So big that he is called “the new king of Anfield”
Ornstein: “Liverpool insist he’s not for sale”

“EXTRA: Bayern Munich are exploring a move to sign Rio Ngumoha. The 17-year-old Liverpool winger is Bayern Munich’s primary target on the left side, and he is aware of the interest. No contact between the clubs yet. Liverpool insist he is not for sale and plans to strengthen the attack – not weaken it.”
Germany’s Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg then reported that Bayern manager Vincent Kompany has already spoken to Ngumoha.
Bayern wanted to sign the 17-year-old as a backup to Luis Díaz on the left wing, but the “deal collapsed” on Thursday.

Romano: “Ngumoha is untouchable”
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Liverpool have made Ngumoha “untouchable” and will not sell the youngster to Bayern this summer.
“Liverpool’s attitude towards Rio Ngumoha – not just today, but for months: untouchable. He is seen as a crucial part of the project, and there is no chance of him disappearing. Liverpool’s view is clear.”
