Bayern Munich are big admirers of Rio Ngumoha. But Liverpool have made it crystal clear: the highly-rated teenager will stay at Anfield – no matter what the European giants come up with.
Sources in Liverpool have made it clear that the club has no intention of selling the highly-rated teenager Rio Ngumoha, despite ties to Bayern Munich and monitoring from other European giants.

Sources close to the club insist that the 18-year-old is highly regarded at Anfield and is considered a superb talent who can develop into a key player for the Reds – and one of the best in Europe.
The Merseyside club have rejected all suggestions of a January exit, and the management is determined to keep the young attacker.
Central to Liverpool’s plans
Ngumoha has already impressed with his speed, technical skills and directness in first-team games, and is considered central to Liverpool’s long-term plans. The club sees him as a player with the potential to become a regular starter and a top player in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Since making his debut as a 16-year-old in January 2025, Ngumoha has made 43 senior appearances for Liverpool and scored three goals in the process.
Bayern Munich have been linked with the winger, with reports of a lot of interest in recent months. Nevertheless, Liverpool’s stance has stood firm throughout.
No appetite for negotiations
Sources have confirmed that any approach to Ngumoha will be rejected by Liverpool and that there is no appetite for negotiations – either in the winter window or later.
Bayern are said to have explored options on the left, but the Reds’ reluctance to get involved has ended any immediate possibility of a deal.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation, according to sources. Both clubs are aware of Ngumoha’s rapid progress and long-term potential, but no formal movement is expected.
New contract in the making
Liverpool are confident that the player will stay. The youngster should be happy on Merseyside and focused on further establishing himself in the first-team squad under the current coaching staff and manager Andoni Iraola.
Liverpool are working on a new long-term contract for Ngumoha – and that negotiations are moving forward. There is a possibility that the 18-year-old will put pen to paper on new terms during the international break, i.e. the next two weeks.
Club sources stress that Ngumoha’s development is a priority, and that he is seen as a player who can grow into a star in European football while wearing the Liverpool shirt.
With a current contract that runs until 2028 – and a new deal seen as a matter of when, not if – the expectation is that he will stay and continue his development at Anfield.
