I’m not entirely sure that Liverpool make a good chess move worth bringing in Vinicius Junior. He may be one of the world’s best footballers, but just like his compatriot Neymar, he is also a prima donna of dimensions.
Neymar hasn’t been good since leaving Barcelona for €222 million, it’s conceivable Vinicius Junior will do the same after he leaves Real Madrid and then somewhere between €140 million and €200 million will be an awful lot of money.
Antonio Nusa is the savior and Andreas Schjelderup is the alternative
For several years, Liverpool have watched as Real Madrid have struck with the signings of the club’s biggest players – or even brought in some of their best players at a bargain price.
Ibrahima Konaté became the last Anfield star to be lured to the Bernabéu last season – just one year after Trent Alexander-Arnold left the club.
Now is the time for Liverpool to get their revenge. And revenge could come in the form of Vinícius Júnior. The Brazilian winger is under contract until 2027 – and could be the ultimate alternative to Yan Diomande for the Reds.
Why Vinícius Jr wants to transform Liverpool
In a new era at Anfield, the team is missing players who have been there and done it for a long time – especially without Mohamed Salah. Vinícius Jr will bring to the gang the arrogance and winning culture that characterizes the best. The Brazilian has won it all with Real Madrid – and has even sunk Liverpool in Champions League finals…. But he has to work and be in the mood.
Liverpool on the hunt for wingers all summer
The club has been looking for a direct winger throughout the summer. Therefore, they made a bid of around £85 million for Diomande from RB Leipzig – but the Germans rejected the bid. If Vinícius Jr is now the next option, the rejection could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. The Brazilian is at a much higher level.
The ultimate Salah replacement
A Real Madrid star replacing Liverpool royalty – that would only be right. Salah cannot be replaced by just anyone. Vinícius Jr is a big match player – Liverpool have experienced that in his body – and is at the height of his career as a 26-year-old.
The summer hasn’t been the easiest for Liverpool, but ending the search for a winger with Vinícius Jr would make all the adversity worth it.
Liverpool get big Vinícius Jr. boost
According to Spanish journalist Ramon Álvarez de Mon, Liverpool have made contact to investigate the possibility of signing Vinícius Jr – and are asking for ongoing information about the Brazilian.
The impressive winger has yet to sign a new contract with Real Madrid – and has actually left the negotiating table for the time being. His representatives see no reason to discuss a new agreement when the parties are still so far apart.
Álvarez de Mon said on his YouTube channel that Liverpool have responded positively to inquiries from the player’s camp – and can prepare for a free transfer in 2027.
“Vinícius’ people obviously have to do their job – find out what position other clubs that could potentially sign him have, whether it’s 2026 or 2027,” says the journalist.
“We’re mainly talking about Premier League clubs. In the first inquiries, there was one club that clearly responded positively to the interest in Vinícius – but the numbers went up for 2027. That club is Liverpool.
Vinícius Jr, who is hailed by Carlo Ancelotti as “one of the best players in the world”, is a player who can transform Liverpool into title contenders and potential European champions again.
