The young centre-back was touted as Liverpool’s own potential Van Dijk replacement, but needed regular playing time and the opportunity for further development on the pitch, Arne Slot could not offer this. Now Slot is history at Anfield, the 23-year-old has impressed Bayer Leverkusen in his debut season for the club – Thomas Tuchel realized he had to bring the centre-back to the World Cup.

On Friday, reports surfaced suggesting that Arsenal had opened talks about a potential transfer for Quansah.
Because according to Sky Sports , reigning Premier League champions Arsenal have started talks with the German club about Quansah. Mikel Arteta wants to bolster his defensive options, and sees Quansah as a good addition to the squad, partly due to his versatility, as he can play both as a centre-back and right-back, it is reported.
According to German Sky Sports, there was a buy-back clause for Liverpool in the contract with Leverkusen, but the option to bring Quansah back in the summer seems to have expired.
Now, Premier League rivals Arsenal are working to bring the 23-year-old to London before the transfer window closes, a very undesirable scenario for Liverpool supporters who did not want to lose Quansah in the first place.
The German media can reassure Liverpool supporters. With a contract until 2030 and no buyout clause in the contract, Bayer Leverkusen have no pressure to sell the England international, and do not intend to do so this summer.
Liverpool supporters therefore seem to not have to see “their” Quansah at Anfield this season, wearing the Arsenal shirt.
