Alisson Becker’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain, as the club is open to accepting a significant bid for his goalkeeping services in the summer.
The Brazilian is an undisputed Liverpool legend, but has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. At the moment, he is out with a hamstring injury. Liverpool triggered an option in his contract in March, which ties him to the club until 2027. Still, doubts remain about his future at Anfield after the summer.

“Liverpool can sell if the bid is high enough”
As Pete O’Rourke revealed in the latest edition of Football Insider’s “Transfer Insider” podcast, the Reds could choose to sell Alisson if an interested club makes a high enough bid in the coming months.
A sale would change Liverpool’s transfer plans, as they would have to bring in a new goalkeeper. Especially considering Giorgi Mamardashvili struggles to impress in his debut season on Merseyside.
Alisson out since mid-March
Alisson has not played since Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League on March 18. Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the 33-year-old in the summer, and Liverpool could let him go if the bid is big enough.
Season by season: Alisson’s injury absence
| Season | Matches played | Matches lost due to injury |
|---|---|---|
| 2025–26 | 34 | 11 |
| 2024–25 | 35 | 23 |
| 2023–24 | 32 | 17 |

– A Catch-22 situation for Liverpool
“There is a lot of speculation from Italy that Juventus are very keen to sign Alisson, as well as other Serie A clubs.
“I think Liverpool are in a kind of Catch-22 situation right now. They don’t really want to sell Alisson, but he only has one year left on his contract after they activated the extension option earlier this year.
“He’s obviously had a lot of injury problems in recent seasons, but when he’s healthy, he’s still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
“If a big bid comes from Juventus or anyone else, this is something Liverpool can consider to balance the balance sheet and at the same time strengthen their own transfer plans at the goalkeeper position.
Liverpool plan to sign right-back – worried about Frimpong
Jeremie Frimpong is another Liverpool player who has struggled with injuries. He has only played 18 Premier League games so far this season.
His persistent problems, combined with Conor Bradley’s long-term injury, have led to Arne Slot having to move players such as Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai to right-back.
Sources have now told Football Insider that Liverpool are looking to sign a new right-back in the summer – due to concerns about Frimpong’s instability.
Slot has not been convinced by Frimpong, even when he has been injury-free. Therefore, the club is now accelerating plans to strengthen the width of the right-back position before next season.
