Thomas Frank was sacked at Tottenham in February. The Dane is not in the habit of criticising his own players, but there were “reports” through the English media that the former Brentford manager was looking at the Spurs squad he took over with only one “elite player”. Now Manchester City are working on signing this “one”.
It is about Pedro Porro. The Spanish international joined Spurs on loan from Sporting CP in January 2023, before signing a permanent deal for around £35 million the following summer. He still has two years left on his contract at the club, but according to Spanish AS, Manchester City have decided to give Guardiola replacement (read: Enzo Maresca) Porro at right-back.

Manchester City prioritise Pedro Porro signing
According to the Spanish newspaper, City have already made contact to start work on a deal to sign the 26-year-old. Tottenham are trying to hold on to Porro, but have seen the giants come after the miserable Premier League season, and have signalled demands for £50m to sell the Spanish star.
Then we will see if Roberto de Zerbi can persuade Porro about the Tottenham project and steer clear of signing with one of the world’s best clubs.
