Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Andrey Santos, the midfielder set to join Old Trafford this summer, alongside Ederson Silva.
Already on July 6, journalist Graeme Bailey reported that United wanted to sign Santos from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Manchester United have struck a deal with Atalanta for Ederson Silva, and are now chasing their second midfielder.

Need to win a little…
Manchester United missed out on the signings of Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. INEOS now wants to work fast and is determined to bolster Carrick’s squad with at least one more midfielder before next season.
Andrey Santos keen on United transfer
Chelsea are willing to sell the 22-year-old Brazilian international at the right price.
“The interest from Manchester United is genuine, and sources close to the player confirm to us that Old Trafford will be a very attractive destination for Santos.
“If the Red Devils make a proper bid, Santos should be keen on the transfer – he sees it as an opportunity to develop under a structured environment and fight for trophies in the Premier League and Europe.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano then suggested that United’s director of recruiting Christopher Vivell could be the driving force behind the club’s interest in Santos – he was previously technical director at Chelsea.
Romano said on his YouTube channel this week:
“For Andrey Santos, they have been in contact with the player’s agent, and it is not the first time – it started already in February and March.
“United have had two meetings with Giuliano Bertolucci, the Brazilian agent representing Santos, so there is a good mutual response between United and Santos.
“He is an alternative. He is a name that Christopher Vivell – who was at Chelsea before joining the United management – knows very well. So he is definitely one of the names on the list.
“So far, Chelsea has not received any offer from Manchester United.
United agree with Chelsea on Santos
The Daily Mail reported earlier on Wednesday that United and Chelsea were in talks over Santos, and that the Red Devils were “getting closer” to a deal for the youngster.
The report, published at 3:23 p.m. on July 8, read:
– Manchester United are closing in on a transfer for Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.
“Daily Mail Sport understands that a deal to bring the 22-year-old to Old Trafford is progressing, and negotiations are ongoing.
The report added:
“Although he is highly valued at Stamford Bridge, he is not considered a regular starter and the management has been willing to let him leave the club at the right price.
“They want £50 million, and the negotiations are continuing,” according to sources with knowledge of the matter.
