Mendes in the center
Manchester United are among the clubs showing the most interest in Francisco Conceição. The 23-year-old, who has been described as a “diamond”, has been made available for transfer by Juventus this summer.
Juventus have recently agreed to sign Kerim Alajbegović, which means that Conceição can leave the Turin club. At the same time, there have been heated discussions with Mendes about the Portuguese’s future.
Juventus need money – and Conceição is one of those who has to give way. Originally, Khephren Thuram was intended to be sold, but an injury has put an end to that. Thus, it is the Portuguese international who will be next.
Smart signing for United
Conceição is neither the highest-scoring winger nor the most groundbreaking signing. But United’s attacking options are thin – especially in the event of injuries.
The 23-year-old has all the qualities needed to succeed on the wings in the Premier League. Along with Amad Diallo, Matheus Cunha, Marcus Rashford and Bryan Mbeumo, he will give Carrick many more options.
A deal is unlikely to be too expensive – and United have been looking at this particular position throughout the window. This is a story to keep an eye on in the weeks to come.
