Manchester United are ready to throw themselves into the chaos that is ravaging Real Madrid – by stepping up their interest in Aurélien Tchouaméni this summer.
The Red Devils have long shown great interest in the France international ahead of the summer window, as they plan to rebuild their midfield. However, a deal has always seemed difficult to come by, as both the club and the player apparently preferred him to extend his stay in the Spanish capital.

Still, United may have just received a significant boost in their quest to bring the player to Old Trafford. The reason is a major conflict behind the scenes at the Bernabéu that has now put Tchouaméni’s future in jeopardy.
Tchouaméni and Valverde clash give Man Utd a boost
There were reports on Wednesday that Tchouaméni and the club’s vice-captain Federico Valverde had been arguing in the dressing room after training. On Thursday, the incident escalated further when the two again ended up at each other’s throats – and Valverde eventually ended up in hospital after being knocked unconscious.
Real Madrid have since announced that both players will be disciplinary sanctioned following an internal investigation. However, with Tchouaméni attracting a lot of interest from Old Trafford, this could be the perfect opportunity for United to step up their interest and convince all parties that a move is the best thing for everyone involved.
Manchester United have already made formal contact with Tchouaméni’s camp to map out his stance on a transfer, as well as the terms of a possible deal.
Real Madrid are said to value Tchouaméni at around £70 million, and Man Utd have set aside £150 million for at least two midfield signings. This means that the 26-year-old is well within the budget if they choose to push for a deal.
There are many who believe that Bruno Fernandes is the best signing in the era after Sir Alex Ferguson. But a deal that brings in Tchouaméni may well turn out to be even better.

As a winner of both the Champions League and La Liga, the defensive midfielder will come in and be the perfect counterweight to Kobbie Mainoo – and the ideal replacement for Casemiro, who is on his way out when his contract expires.
United’s attempt to sign him is unlikely to be easy. But the new developments behind the scenes at Real Madrid will no doubt give the management the courage to believe that this is a deal they need to close this summer.
