Michael Carrick didn’t have to defend a defeat against Fulham with Matheus Cunha’s last-minute reduction to 1-1, but was of course asked about another game without Rashford scoring. For Carrick, it’s only a matter of time before it comes.
“Marcus was a threat. He could have easily scored a couple of goals for us today (Sunday). He’s another one of those players who gets into good situations, but it’s just not going to quite work for him right now. It’s coming. We know Marcus. We know how to get the best out of him and we’re going to continue to do that,” Carrick said after the game.

The challenge for the supporters is that there are plenty of players in the squad who “could have” scored, but don’t on matchday. Rashford brings in over £300,000 every week, the supporters want deliveries, not talk.
