The former Manchester United star has developed a heart condition that now needs to be corrected with surgery.

Scott McTominay will undergo corrective heart surgery, his club Napoli confirms.
The 29-year-old midfielder has developed a heart condition known as mild, benign arrhythmia – an irregular heartbeat that is not life-threatening, and according to medical experts, can be resolved with the procedure.
In a statement, Napoli writes:
“Following the occurrence of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery in the coming days using a cardiac arrhythmia ablation (PFA).
He will be available again after the international break.”
How the procedure works
The British Heart Foundation explains that the PFA procedure McTominay is going through involves heat or cold energy being used to create small scars in the heart. This blocks wrong signals and restores a normal heart rhythm.
