Manchester United have said goodbye to Casemiro, while the midfield is to be strengthened. Over the past six months, they have worked hard to manoeuvre into position to secure the right signings, but the players who are being hunted are also wanted by rivals. United have withdrawn in the race for Elliot Anderson signing, with city rivals City pounding ahead with bids of over £120m for the 23-year-old. Now it opens up for another dream signing.
United have Ederson signing from Atalanta in place, are in a strong position to sign West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, but according to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, a previously closed door is opening for United.

Aurelien Tchouameni has gone from being “untouchable” at Real Madrid, to open to bids, and then again being considered a long-term commitment for the royal club. Then Jose Mourinho entered the stage. The new Real manager wants Enzo Fernandez, a player that Chelsea are unlikely to let go of for less than £120 million.
According to Longari, Tchouameni himself wants to stay, but Real Mdrid could be forced to sell the French international to cover the transfer to the Argentine and make room in midfield.
Former United midfielder Nicky Butt was asked last month about Tchouameni’s potential move to Old Trafford. He has no doubt that Tchouamani is perfect for United, even after the fight with Real player Fede Valverde at the end of the season.
“I would have no doubts about bringing him (to Old Trafford), even after the fight,” Butt begins.
“Unless someone really tells me something really bad that happened before the fight, it wouldn’t change my mind. I think it happens in all locker rooms. It has certainly happened in the ones I was in. I think there’s a lot of testosterone swirling around, a lot of egos swirling around in locker rooms. Something is said, and it starts,” Butt continues.

“It’s not the ideal thing you want in a team, but I certainly wouldn’t go around thinking, ‘I wouldn’t go near him or touch him,’ unless it comes out that he’s done something that’s completely inappropriate. He is still my main target for midfield. I think he’s powerful, aggressive, everything Man United need in a midfielder,” the former Man Utd player concludes.
