Manchester United have several positions they have struggled in under several managers since Ferguson. However, the similarity, regardless of coach, is that the expectations for what the striker will deliver in a United shirt have not been close to meeting. This season, it is Benjamin Sesko who will rise several notches, after having had a decent debut season with 11 Premier League goals in 30 games. This plan seems to be going down the drain.
Benjamin Šeško is working his way back from injury, but according to former Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, there has been a setback.

A setback that could cost the Slovenian striker several more months away from the match arena. The 23-year-old has already been out for five weeks, according to the journalist’s sources, Sesko could now risk spending up to four months returning to the match arena.
If this is true, Manchester United could be forced into the transfer market for a striker emergency solution. United’s history shows that the signings of strikers in the winter transfer window almost never yield results.
Carrick didn’t need this one.
