Lennart Karl, one of Germany’s biggest talents, has some adaptation problems that have come to the surface lately. – But when you set up a style like a 70s star, it’s not so surprising.

It may seem that his time in Germany may be coming to an end, much to the delight of a number of Premier League giants who have long believed that the 18-year-old would be impossible to hijack. – But according to statements from Bayern legend and honorary president Uli Hoeness, anything can happen!

I think he’s a superstar!

Five coaches relevant for Manchester United – only two are ready to take the job

Lennart Karl’s situation at Bayern Munich is suddenly uncertain!. The great talent could be one to watch towards 2027 if conditions do not improve.

Karl committed his future to Bayern earlier this year by signing a new contract – after turning down interest from Arsenal and Liverpool to continue his development in Munich.

But the 18-year-old’s situation has become increasingly complicated this season, with limited first-team opportunities and concerns about his behaviour off the pitch – raising questions about how things will develop.

Karl is considered one of German football’s greatest talents and had a breakthrough season last season, with nine goals and seven assists in 34 appearances for Vincent Kompany’s side.

The performances also earned him his first caps under Julian Nagelsmann, and he was in Germany’s preliminary World Cup squad before an injury prevented him from travelling to North America.

New Germany boss Jürgen Klopp has also named Karl in his preliminary squad – underlining the significant potential that has made him such a highly valued young player.

The situation in Bavaria has soured

Still, things haven’t gone according to plan at Bayern this season. Karl has only made two league starts and one in the Champions League – far less involvement than he had hoped for after his impressive breakthrough season.

One factor has been the form of newcomer Ismael Saibari, whose performances have sharpened the competition for places and made it more difficult for Karl to secure a permanent starting spot.

However, TEAMtalk writes that the concerns extend beyond the pitch, and sources confirm that Bayern are unhappy with aspects of Karl’s behavior off the pitch.

The situation has become serious enough to trigger the intervention of Bayern legend and honorary president Uli Hoeness, who has publicly warned the teenager not to get carried away by the attention around him.

“I’m going to have a serious conversation with him. He’s far from being a superstar,” Hoeness told BILD.

“Young players have to have humility. The comparisons with [Michael] Olise obviously don’t do him any favours. There’s still a huge difference between the two.”

The comments represent a strong public message from one of Bayern’s most powerful figures, and underline how important the club believes it is that Karl responds positively to the criticism.

Michael Olise has established himself as a big star at Bayern, but Hoeness believes the comparisons between the Frenchman and Karl risk creating unrealistic expectations for the teenager at this stage of his career.

It remains to be seen how Karl responds. Bayern want the youngster to focus on his development and fulfil the potential that has made him such an exciting talent.

Intermediaries take early transfer talks

However, TEAMtalk has been told that intermediaries have made contact while clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation. If Karl’s circumstances do not improve, sources suggest that his future could be a significant topic of conversation towards 2027.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are well aware of the development, having chased the player in the past before he opted to sign a new deal with Bayern.

Manchester United have also been alerted to the situation – potentially putting three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs on alert.

The interest is not limited to England. Barcelona and Real Madrid are still said to be interested in Karl, after both tried to sign him as a 10-year-old after he impressed in a youth tournament.

The early attention reflects the reputation Karl has built up over several years, although his situation at Bayern is now quite different from when he was a young academy talent.

The contract he signed earlier this year ties him to Bayern until 2029 – meaning the German champions are still in a strong position to determine his future.

There are no indications that a departure is imminent, and the club hopes Karl can overcome the current difficulties and establish himself more stable in Kompany’s squad.
