Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva have been presented as Real Madrid players in the last week. Jose Mourinho is on his way in, and the La Liga giant will make sure that The Special One will have nothing to complain about when he pulls out the list of players he has at his disposal from preseason. It has also long been rumored that Liverpool’s former centre-back giant has chosen Madrid over continuing at Anfield. On Thursday, the confirmation came.
Ibrahima Konaté announced after the end of the season that he will leave Liverpool at the end of his contract in June, after two and a half years of negotiations failed to reach an agreement with the club. According to Football-Insider’s sources , the Frenchman demanded a sharp salary increase compared to the deal he signed when he joined from RB Leipzig in 2021. At Real Madrid, this is not a problem.

Last summer, it was Trent Alexander-Arnold who was tempted with 20 million euros in sign–on fees and a gigantic salary, the French international has now signed a contract until 2030 with Real Madrid. The La Liga giant is said to be willing to pay free agent Konaté €17 million in sign-on fees and a willing £400,000 in weekly wages – before tax, massively up from the Frenchman’s weekly wage at Liverpool of around £150,000.
