Over the past month, the Portuguese 21-year-old has been so heavily linked with Manchester United that various English media have taken it for granted that Mateus Fernandes, Bruno Fernandes’ favourite to be given responsibility in United’s midfield, is on his way to Old Trafford. Now it is reported that PSG is getting ahead of the Red Devils.

Everton’s former CEO Keith Wyness runs a football consultancy as an advisor, he reports a Mateus Fernandes transfer is confirmed to be ready in the first part of the transfer window.

-With a bidding round, it could be as much as £70 million for the 21-year-old. So that’s where I think the market is going to be. PSG is going to be very attractive for Fernandes. He may well stay in the Premier League and that’s who’s going to step up and pay that amount, but I expect to see the deal [with PSG] get done, as they’re talking right now behind the scenes and are being announced pretty quickly in the transfer window,” Wyness told Football-Insider.
