Most of what has been written about Andreas Schjelderup, before and after the World Cup, but new, is a strong interest from “the eternal city” who is gearing up for the Champions League. According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Roma management has now not only set their sights on Scjelderup, but the Norwegian World Cup profile and Benfica winger has “moved steadily up the wish list of the Italian big team lately”.

Especially after two assists and a dream goal in Norway’s last two World Cup games against Brazil and England, it seems that the 22-year-old is sailing up as an increasingly hot candidate at Roma. The Serie A giant, according to sporting director Tony D’Amico, is looking for two new players, something coach Gian Piero Gasperini has been clear that he wants.

Roma were interested in Mason Greenwood earlier this summer, but they never made a bid for the Englishman before he was sold from Marseille to Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Dutchman Crysencio Summerville (24) has also been highly rated but has reportedly not received a response from his owner club West Ham.
Then we will see if Schjelderup is tempted by playing in Serie A and Champions League at Italy’s third best club – and if Roma are willing to pay what Benfica have realized they can demand in the event of a Schjelderup sale.
