Two months before kick-off of the World Cup, Saudi Arabia chose to sack national team coach Hervé Renard. After one World Cup match, the former French national team coach could be on his way into the championship. Not for his former employer, but for the nation that fired the coach after the 5-1 loss against our Swedish neighbors.

Tunisia fired national team coach Sabri Lamouchi on Monday after the 1-5 loss to Sweden, technical director Munther Al-Kabeer has been given the role of interim national team coach for the rest of the championship, it was reported. Now the plan may have changed.

According to Romain Molina, who writes for The Guardian and The Times, Hervé Renard will be Tunisia’s new national team coach. It is not said whether the Frenchman will take over as the new coach already in the World Cup, or immediately after. Still, there wouldn’t have been such a rush to choose the next permanent coach, if he wasn’t going to be used in the World Cup.

On Sunday, Tunisia will again be in action. In the next two games, the Netherlands and Japan await, we’ll see if it will be with or without Hervé Renard on the sidelines.
