Next week, Chelsea will sign Rogers for £117 million. Back in January 2024, the striker left Middelsebrough after six months at the club, Aston Villa paid £15 million for the player. In addition, a resale clause was included in the contract, whereby Middlesbrough would receive 20 percent of the profits in a future Rogers sale at Villa.

Now we are already there. According to Sky Sports , Championship club Middlesbrough will receive a whopping £35 million of Chelsea’s payment for Rogers.

This is the player Middlesbrough gave £1.1 million for to Manchester City three years ago.
