Sevilla continue to explore Northern Europe – and have now put Patrick Berg’s name on the agenda to strengthen their midfield. The 28-year-old from Bodø/Glimt has a contract until July 2028, but so far there is no formal offer from the Spanish club.
The search comes as a direct response to a specific need. The sale of Djibril Sow and Nemanja Gudelj has reduced the options for Luis García Plaza – while sporting directors continue to bring in players from Nordic markets.
Berg’s merits: 20 goals and 21 assists
Patrick Berg is one of the names Sevilla are considering for the midfield position. Since returning to Bodø/Glimt in 2022, the Norwegian international has recorded 20 goals and 21 assists in 110 games.
The contract runs until 2028, and the market value is currently estimated at 7.5 million euros. However, that number hardly reflects the price the Norwegian club will charge for a transfer.
Berg also has regular appearances for Norway. In the UEFA register, he is noted with 7 games and 362 minutes played in 2026 – with a passing accuracy of 74.86 percent.
A possible signing of Berg would fit perfectly into an area Sevilla will have to rebuild. Sow left the club for €4 million, while Gudelj has also left – leaving fewer resources in the middle.
Sevilla go Nordic – have already signed Scottish striker from Allsvenskan
The search for Berg comes in the wake of Sevilla having already completed the signing of Scottish Robbie Ure – from Swedish Sirius. The striker signed until the end of 2031, and the deal was closed for a fixed sum of 6.5 million euros – with an additional 2 million in variables.
Ure scored 15 goals in 15 appearances for Sirius before arriving at Nervión – figures that explain the interest from a club that had also seen him followed by several top European clubs.
The next move could thus come in midfield. Berg’s name appears at the same time as the club is working on other options for the position – in a market characterized by departures and the need to adjust the squad.
Bodø/Glimt play on – while Sevilla assess
Bodø/Glimt continue their competition calendar with Berg as a regular piece. The Norwegian has 13 Eliteserien games in 2026 with 2 goals, according to Opta data.
Currently, Sevilla is in a monitoring and evaluation phase – with no confirmed transfer fee. The next step will be to decide whether the sporting directors turn their interest in Patrick Berg into formal contacts with Bodø/Glimt before the window closes.
