The Post reports that Shaquille O’Neal, 51, underwent hip replacement surgery over the weekend. The basketball player published his photo from the hospital bed. The former athlete is reportedly doing well and even has plans for post-convalescence.
O’Neal himself confirmed the news of the surgery. The former basketball player announced his condition in a Twitter post. Shaq has been lifting weights non-stop lately and looking better than ever. During a recent appearance on the Impaulsive podcast, he revealed why he is slimming down.
I weighed 401 pounds. Now I weigh 365. – O’Neal said. – I’m trying to get back to 345. I want muscles everywhere and I want to do an underwear commercial with my sons for Fruit of the Loom. – O’Neal concluded.
O’Neal said he would return to training on April 16.
