Inter Milan suddenly have to outperform both Barcelona and Arsenal in the battle for Tottenham captain Cristian Romero. – Romero, who was injured at the end of the season, chose to prioritize events at home in Argentina rather than supporting his team in the very important last game of the season.
- It’s a no, no for an ordinary player, and even more so for a captain.
Tottenham survived and Cristian Romero turned up after pressure from fans and club. – It repaired a little, but not enough to be loved again! – Should he be picked up by city rival Arsenal, we think there will be some jealousies in North London.

The shock news comes in Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, which points out that both Barcelona and Arsenal are following the situation closely – with a particular focus on Inter Milan
The Argentine’s future seems to lie outside of Tottenham, and the work to find a new club is already underway. Romero himself is said to be open to a move to the San Siro, and the Serie A winners have been in contact with his representatives.
Tottenham initially put a price tag of €50 million on the 28-year-old – but according to Sport Witness , Spurs are now willing to lower their demands. That makes Inter coach Cristian Chivu increasingly optimistic about getting the signing done.
Later on Friday, Romero’s agent Ciro Palermo and middleman Vincent Casella were spotted in Milan.

The Arsenal and Barcelona threat
Corriere writes that the agent visit is yet another indication that Romero is Inter Milan’s main priority. Work is now underway to find a deal between the player and Roberto De Zerbi’s side. The latter has already offered Romero a contract in connection with the talks between the clubs about Djed Spence.
Romero is in favour of a move to the Italian champions, but the parties have not yet agreed on personal terms. Inter want to get this in place first – which will give them a bargaining chip when they face Spurs.
However, the newspaper points out that it will not be easy for Inter, with interest from Arsenal, La Liga winners and Chelsea. However, Maxence Lacroix’s imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge could remove Chelsea as a real contender.
The Nerazzurri are aware that it will be difficult to compete financially with teams like Arsenal.
Agent can put pressure on Arsenal
It is very likely that the newspaper has received the information from Romero’s agent Ciro Palermo himself, who arrived in Milan on Friday:
Exclusive 🚨 Photos of Ciro Palermo, agent of Cuti Romero, in Milan with his entourage Vincent Casella. The Inter negotiations are heating up – as revealed on July 1, they are working to move forward with Tottenham.
The plan from the agent side is to use the interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona to push for the best deal from Inter Milan.
While Arsenal have a genuine interest, it is unlikely that Spurs will let last year’s captain go to their bitter local rivals. It could be decisive in the battle for the signature.
