Elliot Anderson has been lost to Manchester City. Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, both lost to Tottenham. Manchester United secure Atalant’s Ederson, but so far it has not gone the Red Devils’ way in the transfer market. For the past two months, Aurelien Tchouameni has been linked with the squad at Old Trafford, but most reports have pointed in the direction of the France international staying in Madrid. Now, however, there are reports of an all-in push from United.
At the end of June, English journalist Ben Jacobs pulled the analysis from United’s perspective: “Tchouameni’s wages are not a problem in my opinion. Manchester United would be willing to make a player like him one of their best-valued. They’re not in the category of salaries like Rashford or Sancho, but neither is Tchouameni.”

“So I’m not aware that personal terms with Tchouameni would be an issue. The challenge is which midfielder Real will sign? Is it in Tchouameni’s position? Even if it’s not, are they bringing in enough money elsewhere, or do they need one big sale to make a bet on Enzo Fernandez? José Mourinho has said that he wants Enzo Fernandez, which is why talks are expected to start between Chelsea and Real Madrid. So I doubt Man Utd would back out of a potential Tchouameni deal [based] on wages. I think they would have some optimism that if the player really becomes available, it’s a move that can pay off,” the journalist said.
Two weeks later, Real Madrid have publicly announced that they will not go for Enzo Fernandez’s signing, while Jose Mourinho has reportedly opened up that Tchouameni still has a place among the selected players on matchday.
On Tuesday, Spanish AS claimed that Manchester United are still ready to go “all in” for Tchouameni, with the Premier League giant reportedly prepared to bet “big money” for the French international. According to the Spanish media, Real Madrid have targeted 100 million euros in a sale of the 26-year-old.
