We have been waiting for a while for Danish Morten Hjulmand to take the next place on the career ladder and go to a bigger club than Sporting. – The Portuguese club is an excellent but expensive stepping stone to bigger leagues, especially the Premier League and La Liga.

Countless big clubs have been on the ball and made suggestions throughout the season, but several have been pushed backwards by Sporting’s price demand. AS writes today that Morten Hjulmand has agreed on a contract with La Liga giant Atlético Madrid, but it is not enough that he agrees, Sporting must surely pay for the price.

Morten Hjulmand has played for Sporting in Portugal for the past three seasons. The last two as captain.

According to the media, the Dane and his team have agreed to an offer of six million euros a year.

Agree with the player, but not with the club

Sporting and Atlético Madrid have not yet agreed on a transfer fee for the 26-year-old international.

Morten Hjulmand has a buyout clause of 80 million euros. However, it is not a sum the Spanish big club intends to pay for the Dane.

According to AS, Atlético Madrid have tried a bid for half

Time will tell if that is enough to convince Sporting to let one of the club’s biggest stars go.

According to Transfermarkt, Morten Hjulmand is valued at 45 million euros.
