In his debut season, Mason Greenwood wreaked havoc with defenders in Ligue 1 with his 21 goals in 34 games. Mason Greenwood is closing in on a transfer exit from Marseille. Last week, Calciomercato reported that Roma showed interest in the Englishman.

According to TEAMtalk, Greenwood is unlikely to return to the Premier League this summer: “Mason Greenwood is heading for an exit from Marseille this summer after a break in his relationship with the club, but it is unlikely that he will return to the Premier League. There has been some speculation around a possible reunion with former Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi, who is now in charge of Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are not currently considering buying Greenwood.”
According to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, talks between Roma and Greenwood’s representatives have started. The conversations are described as “positive”.
The 24-year-old is said to be the main target for Roma coach Gasperini, who this season secured a Champions League ticket for the club. Schira also writes that Manchester United, which the winger left permanently in the summer of 2024, has a resale clause of around 40 percent of the sale price.
